Again and again we are asked for sheet music and lyrics to our tunes and songs. With this edition, all the tracks from our debut album PALM BAY FROST are finally available in one volume: a total of 15 tunes and 3 songs.
With the help of the sheet music, melody players can play the tunes as well as the instrumental parts of the songs. Chord symbols are notated for the accompanists. Singers find lyrics and vocal melodies. In addition to the sheet music, we offer tips on playing techniques and embellishments for melody players, accompaniment patterns and how to use chords. You will find further explanations of technical terms printed in italics in the appendix.
Background information on each piece, as well as details on how we play it, e.g. how Hartmut uses the capo, or which register Simon uses on the accordion, will help you to understand our playing. Of course, you can also choose completely different solutions for you and your instrument.

Sabrina Palm
Sabrina Palm, born in Bonn in 1981, is a renowned musician on the German folk scene. Her musical journey began with classical violin training, which she used as a solid basis to experiment in various styles.
At a young age she found her place in the Irish traditional music scene and quickly became known beyond the borders of Germany. She has played in various bands, including the trio Palm Bay Frost, Duo RASA with Radek Stawarz, and the Reel Bach Consort.
Sabrina inspires the audience with her passionate playing and impressive bowing. It is primarily dedicated to traditional music from Ireland, Scotland and mainland Europe.
In addition to her stage presence, Sabrina also studied in Ireland with renowned fiddle masters such as Martin Hayes. She has been passing on her knowledge in workshops and individual lessons for almost 20 years.
A milestone in her career was her examination to become a teacher of traditional music in Dublin in the summer of 2008, where she was the first German to pass.
Sabrina Palm is a member of the German Record Critics’ Award and is actively involved in the promotion of traditional music, especially with youth folk orchestras.
Her musical journey is characterized by passion, dedication and a broad spectrum of knowledge, ranging from musicology to the world of digital media. Sabrina Palm is undoubtedly an inspiring figure for young people interested in traditional music.
Simon Bay
Simon Bay, a name that stands for musical versatility. The accordion has a long tradition in his family, but his own journey began on the larger keyboard instruments. He studied piano, organ and keyboard, studied film music and composition in Cologne and has been working as a professional pianist and keyboardist for over 15 years.
In 2008, however, Simon found his passion for the accordion, influenced by Cologne music and the sounds of Irish Trad and Scandinavian folklore. His first concert as a child with an Irish folk band left a lasting impression.
Simon Bay is not only a sought-after live and studio musician, but also an accomplished composer and arranger. He leads bands, plays as a pianist and keyboardist and has honed his skills with renowned teachers, including Damien Mullane, Ole Carstensen and Anders Lillebo. His style is characterized by energy and passion, and he is an impressive artist on the keys and accordion.
Hartmut Frost
Hartmut Frost, a passionate musician from an early age, began with the recorder, but his true love was the guitar and the blues. He studied music in Maastricht, Cologne and Zurich, specializing in jazz/rock/pop guitar and vocals.
As a first-class songwriter, he enriches the repertoire of the PALM BAY FROST trio with his wonderful songs. His flexible guitar playing, both as an accompanist and as a soloist, lends the trio’s sound an impressive depth.
Hartmut Frost, born in the Rhineland, lives and teaches in Cologne. His path led him from the Rheinische Musikschule to private lessons with renowned teachers and finally to his studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. Workshops with outstanding musicians such as Bruno Müller, Rick Peckham, Adrian Belew and Allan Holdsworth enriched his training.
Apart from his performances with various bands, including the indie folk-pop band Mrs. Greenbird, Hartmut Frost is also active as a musician, composer and producer.
His broad musical talent and creative energy make Hartmut Frost a fascinating personality.
