Ekhart Topp

Ekhart Topp is a freelance musician and music teacher and lives near Frankfurt am Main. He has been playing Irish traditional music for more than 40 years and has made a name for himself as a musician in various formations and as a workshop lecturer and music teacher throughout Germany and beyond. He has been leading guitar, banjo, ensemble and band coaching workshops for many years. His main instruments are guitar and banjo. However, he can also be heard on the mandolin, the Cajun accordion or on samba drums as well as singing. He has self-published the books “Irish Guitar Accompaniment” and “Irish Tenor Banjo”. He also has a video tutorial series on Irish Guitar Accompaniment. In addition to Irish music, he is also passionate about American folk and roots music.
