Description

Discover “Zu Zweit” – a carefully compiled collection of 34 pieces of music from Germany, Sweden and France. These two-part arrangements come with chord symbols for accompaniment and offer a wide range of musical experiences. Whether played on two key fiddles, violin, flute, accordion, clarinet or guitar, these pieces will enrich your musical repertoire and invite you and your fellow players to a unique musical dialog.

The author has selected pieces that stand out particularly on the chromatic keyed fiddle (nyckelharpa) and are characterized by their ease of playing. But violinists, guitarists, accordion and clarinet players will also find a rich source of musical inspiration in these melodies. The optimal tuning of the melody strings for keyed fiddle players is recommended directly above the notes, including suggestions for fingering.

Angelika Maier

Angelika comes from the south of Germany and started making music at an early age. Her first contact with an instrument was the recorder. She later took guitar and flute lessons and taught herself to play the mandolin and dulcimer.

Her love for folk music and especially for instruments with many harmonious sounds has always been palpable. It was probably inevitable that one day she would be enchanted by the nyckelharpa and succumb to the allure of playing it. Although she was admittedly hesitant to learn a new instrument at the age of fifty, she has never regretted her decision. That was six years ago now, and she doesn’t regret a single moment of it.

Apart from playing the nyckelharpa, she also teaches the flute and recorder. Angelika Maier is a remarkable example of how it is never too late to let yourself be carried away by your passion for music.
